Toyota engineers retuned the damping rates, making for a more controlled ride. On the highway, the Tundra feels secure. A re-valved steering rack nicely complements the extra stability provided by the retuned suspension. On-center feel and weighting is as good as anything from Toyota short of the Scion FR-S. On back roads, you might even call the 5000-pound rig borderline sporty. Off-road, there’s just enough isolation to keep it from being punishing on the forearms, but it still lets you know exactly what the front tires are doing… It’s worth pointing out that Toyota is currently the only manufacturer that certifies its vehicles to the SAE J2807 standard for determining towing capacity.”

“The most noticeable shakeup with the new Corolla is how it looks – it’s rather handsome, even in base trim. Customers told Toyota that the current model “lacked the excitement” they desired, and the new “Iconic Dynamism” design language (first seen on the company’s Furia concept) certainly fixes that… Around town, it never feels particularly slow accelerating from a stop, and while the inline-four can feel a bit lifeless during freeway passing, the smooth-acting CVT does a nice job of keeping the revs in the powerband without being overly wheezy. Comparatively, I’d say this car’s continuously variable transmission is more refined than what’s found in the Sentra…. On the infotainment front, Toyota offers its Entune suite of apps – including optional navigation – housed inside a 6.1-inch touchscreen. Here, too, everything is intuitive and the display is well-organized with modern graphics. It’s not as pretty as MyFord Touch, but it’s certainly easier to use. That, right there, is what the whole Corolla package comes down to: ease of use.”

Milton Ruben Toyota and Toyota 100 Cars for Good
It’s almost that time of the year again. It’s Toyota 100 Cars for Good season! The national philanthropic program launched 2 years ago by Toyota. Over the span of 50 days, Toyota gives away 100 cars to 100 selected nonprofit organizations across the United States of America.
What makes 100 Cars for Good different from other national philanthropy programs is that Toyota allows the public to choose the winners through Toyota 100 Cars for Good Facebook page.
The voting will begin this year on October 1, 2013, and for 50 consecutive days, five organizations will be eligible for voting to the public on the Toyota 100 Cars for Good Facebook page. Voters are given two votes per day for two different organizations. At the end of the day the two organizations with the highest number of votes will be deemed the winners. From there, the winners will receive one of their previously chosen vehicles (a Prius, Highlander, Tundra, Sienna, or Sienna Mobility) within 90-150 days! The three follow-up winners will each receive a $1,000 grant from Toyota.
So on October 1st, remember to go to Toyota 100 Cars for Good’s Facebook and start casting your votes!

The annual Walton Foundation Golf Classic is an Augusta tradition in the fall of every year. Named after Phil S. Harison, Chairman of the Walton Foundation Board 1998-2007, the annual tournament pairs golfers from all over the community who come together to support the mission of the Walton Continuum of Care.
