2014 Tundra 1794

Whats Experts Are Saying about the 2014 Toyota Tundra:

“The 2014 Toyota Tundra remains a capable workhorse among full-size pickups, and now benefits from a bolder look and improved interior. Pros: Strong V8 powertrains; capable six-speed automatic; large Double Cab with traditional rear doors; colossal CrewMax cab; one axle ratio fits all.

The Toyota Tundra earned its stripes in the full-size pickup category long ago. Its blend of brawn and reliable backbone made it equal to — and in some cases better than — its American rivals. But competitors caught up with, then surpassed, the Tundra with more sophisticated interiors, modern technology and tougher styling — elements that the redesigned 2014 Toyota Tundra aims to address…. Acknowledging that some people just want a big truck to roll around in, the Platinum trim focuses on “urban and contemporary,” says Toyota, and includes perforated black leather seats, chrome and brushed metallic trim, and a 12-speaker audio system.

The new 1794 trim level is named for the former San Antonio ranchland that the Tundra’s factory now sits atop. The 1794, meant to evoke a traditional Western heartland lifestyle, comes with saddle-brown leather upholstery with suede accents and LED running lights.

Inside, the Tundra interior is revamped with a new dash design that brings audio and climate controls more than 2 inches closer to front occupants. The front seats offer additional travel and crew cab rear seats can now fold up for additional cargo room. Safety features include blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert on premium models.”

“What will impress your friends is the ride quality and lack of noise in your new Tundra. The truck I drove can carry up to 1500 pounds of payload — decent for its class — yet still rides more like a crossover than a half-ton truck. Toyota engineers retuned the damping rates, making for a more controlled ride. On the highway, the Tundra feels secure. A re-valved steering rack nicely complements the extra stability provided by the retuned suspension. On-center feel and weighting is as good as anything from Toyota short of the Scion FR-S. On back roads, you might even call the 5000-pound rig borderline sporty. Off-road, there’s just enough isolation to keep it from being punishing on the forearms, but it still lets you know exactly what the front tires are doing…  It’s worth pointing out that Toyota is currently the only manufacturer that certifies its vehicles to the SAE J2807 standard for determining towing capacity.”

“Visually, Toyota has achieved its mission objective in terms of a designing a more distinctive (if polarizing) exterior appearance. Even though it was a bit overwhelming at first, we quickly grew accustomed – even liked – the new façade and the embossed tailgate. The Tundra finally has some much-needed stage presence… The Tundra’s redesigned interior is also a pleasing improvement over last year’s model. The cabin materials feel more substantial and the ergonomics have been simplified. The meaty leather-wrapped steering wheel felt great in our hands and we liked the round, swiveling vents that allow better air distribution.”

Researching the 2014 Toyota Corolla? Milton Ruben Toyota has assembled a grouping of third-party reviews from trusted sites such a s Kelley Blue Book, Edmunds, and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, among others, to help you make the most informed car-buying decision possible.

2014 Toyota Corolla

Whats Experts Are Saying about the 2014 Toyota Corolla:

“This Corolla looks more stylish and contemporary than its frumpy-looking predecessors, and there’s appreciably more stretch-out space inside…. Ride comfort is about as good as you’ll find in a compact sedan, with its suspension absorbing bumps very nicely. We’ve also noticed that wind and road noise are well suppressed. Engine noise can be a bit intrusive when you’re hurrying, but the CVT’s behavior is more refined than that of some competitors’ such as the Nissan Sentra or Subaru Impreza. Our car’s trip computer says we’ve been averaging 34 mpg so far, which is very good….At 183-inches long, the Corolla is now one of the largest in the segment. The wheelbase also grew nearly four inches in the redesign. As a result, rear-seat passengers enjoy more space. In fact, the backseat is roomy enough to challenge even some midsized sedans, significantly adding to the car’s viability and appeal…. CR’s take: The newest Corolla is right on target—quiet, roomy, economical, and comfortable-riding—and it’s finally more interesting to look at and to drive. The Corolla also brings pretty good value. We expect it to prove competitive when we rank it against its peers.”

“One key improvement this year is fuel economy. Any Corolla you look at will sip less gas than last year thanks to a variety of tweaks and a new continuously variable transmission (CVT), which takes the place of a conventional automatic transmission on some versions. Also, there’s a new fuel economy-themed trim level called the LE Eco…achieving an EPA combined rating of 35 mpg along with a highway rating of 42 mpg.

Another functional upgrade on the 2014 Corolla is roomier seating. Rear passengers, in particular, enjoy nearly 5 inches more rear legroom, which will also make it easier to fit rear-facing child safety seats…. The company also used higher-quality interior materials and added a few new features, including keyless ignition/entry….The best thing about the new Toyota Corolla is that it never feels as if it’s straining to keep up with traffic or unable to deal with the unexpected. In place of inspiring performance, the redesigned Corolla offers unpretentiousness that expresses itself as character, and that coupled with its legendary reputation for reliability should ensure that the latest version of Toyota’s compact sedan finds a home in plenty of garages.”

“The most noticeable shakeup with the new Corolla is how it looks – it’s rather handsome, even in base trim. Customers told Toyota that the current model “lacked the excitement” they desired, and the new “Iconic Dynamism” design language (first seen on the company’s Furia concept) certainly fixes that… Around town, it never feels particularly slow accelerating from a stop, and while the inline-four can feel a bit lifeless during freeway passing, the smooth-acting CVT does a nice job of keeping the revs in the powerband without being overly wheezy. Nissan has some fine CVTs in its stable, but Toyota is to be applauded for its application here in the Corolla. Comparatively, I’d say this car’s continuously variable transmission is more refined than what’s found in the Sentra…. On the infotainment front, Toyota offers its Entune suite of apps – including optional navigation – housed inside a 6.1-inch touchscreen. Here, too, everything is intuitive and the display is well-organized with modern graphics. It’s not as pretty as MyFord Touch, but it’s certainly easier to use. That, right there, is what the whole Corolla package comes down to: ease of use.”

“The latest tech options have finally been implemented – Bluetooth connectivity, smart key, push-button start, heated front seats, navigation system, and rearview camera – as are three different audio systems, including two versions of Toyota’s Entune system with App Suite. This highly customizable infotainment unit should please tech-loving consumers and comes loaded with apps like Pandora, MovieTickets.com, OpenTable, and iHeartRadio as well as informational data services like fuel prices, sports, traffic, and weather. It’s not Tesla, but it’s full service and solid…. As promised, Toyota did engineer a little more driver enjoyment into the new Corolla. Ride and handling have improved noticeably and overall the ride was softer over the bumpy stuff and feels more composed at speed…. In short, there was never any doubt we were driving a Corolla, but that’s a good thing, because there’s never been a better time to say that. The 2014 update continues this sedan’s decades-long tradition: It’s utterly predictable and guaranteed to deliver hundreds of thousands of worry-free miles.”

“A quieter, bigger [Corolla] with better seats, a smoother ride, crisper steering, a “seven-speed” CVT function that’s actually preferable to a traditional automatic, and a special fuel-sipper model rated at 42 mpg. It’s all wrapped in styling that merits the use of the word, and it’s packed with the infotainment features modern marketing demands.”

2014 Toyota Camry

Whats Experts Are Saying about the 2014 Toyota Camry:

“Given its well-rounded nature and long-standing history of dependability, the 2014 Toyota Camry is a solid choice in the highly competitive midsize sedan segment….We think most people will be quite pleased with a 2014 Toyota Camry purchase….Fuel-efficient engines; comfortable and spacious interior with  above-average rear seat accommodations; better-than-average outward visibility.”

You’ll Like This Car If…You’re looking for a very solid deal with a very solid car, with proven reliability and resale value, no surprises, something you can count on to serve you well for the long haul. “The 2013 Toyota Camry is a superb midsize sedan, with the latest chassis engineering and sleek styling. Camry powertrains are so different you should consider your needs or drive them all before you choose. The four-cylinder engine is exceptional, with good smooth response and excellent fuel economy. The 6-speed automatic transmission is smooth. The suspension is comfortable and the interior clean and convenient. Upper level models with infotainment options move the Camry upscale. Camry SE has a firmer ride and sharper steering response. Camry Hybrid keeps emissions low but doesn’t offer the responsiveness of the four-cylinder and V6 models.”

NewCarTestDrive.com report

“It’s also easy to dress up the Camry with more personality than you might be familiar with–by way of a V-6 engine, a sport suspension, and premium features–so it’s not quite so relentlessly straight-laced…. Toyota reclaimed one of the top spots among mid-size sedans, with ten standard airbags plus top overall ratings from both U.S. safety agencies. Bluetooth connectivity is included in all trims—even the base model—and the screen-based Display Audio system, with Bluetooth audio streaming, USB connectivity, and iPod connectivity, is now included even in the base Camry L. A navigation system with voice recognition is also available, as is a high-end JBL sound system, with HD Radio and satellite radio. And through Toyota’s advanced Entune system—also available—you can tap into Pandora streaming audio through your smartphone, as well as a suite of connected services. For 2014, the SE Sport trim–essentially a value package–has been brought back for the four-cylinder model…. Overall, the Camry rides and drives in a more refined, responsive way compared to any Camry you test-drove a few years ago, and the package and features have been much improved.”

What makes 100 Cars for Good different from other national philanthropy programs is that Toyota allows the public to choose the winners through Toyota 100 Cars for Good Facebook page.

The voting will begin this year on October 1, 2013, and for 50 consecutive days, five organizations will be eligible for voting to the public on the Toyota 100 Cars for Good Facebook page. Voters are given two votes per day for two different organizations. At the end of the day the two organizations with the highest number of votes will be deemed the winners. From there, the winners will receive one of their previously chosen vehicles (a Prius, Highlander, Tundra, Sienna, or Sienna Mobility) within 90-150 days! The three follow-up winners will each receive a $1,000 grant from Toyota.
