2014 Prius V Reviews from Third-Party Sources
Researching the 2014 Toyota Prius V? We have assembled a grouping of third-party reviews from trusted sites such a s Kelley Blue Book, Edmunds, and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, among others, to help you make the most informed car-buying decision possible.
Whats Experts Are Saying about the 2014 Toyota Prius V:
“The Prius V is one of two highly fuel efficient wagons sold this year, with a combined EPA rating of 42 mpg. It’s bested on ratings only by the Ford C-Max, although that car’s 47-mpg combined rating is rarely achieved in real-world driving–so the Prius V and C-Max are likely closer under regular use than the numbers would indicate.
But the payoff comes in interior volume. A sliding rear seat lets the rear cargo bay expand from 34.3 cubic feet to 40.2, and folding down the seat produces a substantial 67.3 cubic-foot load volume. Toyota is to be complemented for the wide 39-inch distance between wheel wells, meaning large boxy items can be accommodated with ease on the flat load floor.
Safety is a strong point, with seven airbags and it’s rated a Top Safety Pick by the IIHS, with the top rating of Good for front, side, and roof-crush tests, and rear crash protection–but only Poor on the new, tougher Small Overlap Front Crash test. The NHTSA gives it five stars overall, with five stars for side crash and four stars each for frontal crash and rollover safety.”
TheCarConnection.com report

“The five-seat Prius v has plenty of room for passengers, according to most automotive writers. The backseat slides to allow for more legroom or more cargo space. The available cargo space is very good for a wagon and is larger than what some SUVs offer. Standard features include Bluetooth, an iPod interface and keyless start, while optional features include heated seats and navigation.”
U.S. News and World Report’s Best Cars

“Though Prius v gives up some fuel economy compared to the original Prius, its excellent packaging makes it an arguably more attractive option for families and active folks looking for better gas mileage than most any midsize car or SUV can deliver. This is a practical, roomy wagon that can easily achieve 40 mpg and be bought with most every feature you could want for $30,000 or less. Prius v is one of the best values on the market today.”
Consumer Guide

“Prius v is a handsome vehicle, resembling a swoopy small minivan, not unlike the Mazda5, or maybe like a big Honda Fit without the sharp edges. The nose sweeps sharply up to the A pillars and roof. Toyota engineers paid careful aerodynamic attention to the bumpers, corners and roofline, as well as rocker panels, mirrors, wheels and wheelcovers, and it shows in the form of a drag coefficient of 0.29, which very sleek for a wagon or crossover.
With 34.3 cubic feet, Prius v offers more cargo space than 80 percent of the compact SUVs and mid-size wagons on the market. The rear seats slide back for legroom, or forward to increase cargo space; they also recline, and there’s an optional panoramic roof for sky-watching. The front seat folds flat, like the Honda Fit or Jeep Patriot. With that extra 3.3 inches of height and long rear doors, it’s very easy to climb in and out of the back.”

“The 2014 Toyota Prius V offers the fuel efficiency of a hybrid with the interior space of a compact SUV. Using the same powertrain as the Prius 4-door hatchback, and with the “V” standing for “versatility,” the 5-passenger Prius V can haul lots of family gear without burning lots of gas while doing it. Compared to the “regular” Prius, the V is less sprightly but has a smoother ride, and the cleverly useful rear seats will slide fore and aft, fold over for hauling large items or recline for more comfort. Likely competitors might include the Ford C-Max and the Volkswagen Jetta SportWagen TDI. If fuel economy is paramount the Prius V delivers, with EPA numbers of 44 mpg city, 40 mpg highway and 42 mpg combined.
You’ll Like This Car If… This is simple: Want great fuel economy and the cargo space of something more like a compact SUV? See your local Toyota dealer and check out the 2014 Prius V.”

2014 Toyota Sequoia Reviews from Third-Party Sources
Researching the 2014 Toyota Sequoia? Milton Ruben Toyota has assembled a grouping of third-party reviews from trusted sites such as Kelley Blue Book, Edmunds, and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, among others, to help you make the most informed car-buying decision possible.
Whats Experts Are Saying about the 2014 Toyota Sequoia:
“The Sequoia isn’t only a truck-based SUV. With seating for eight and interior appointments that can look and feel quite upscale, this is a vehicle that can also work for the family…. In the past, you could choose from two different V-8 engines for the Sequoia, but last year Toyota discontinued the smaller-displacement (4.6-liter) choice. It’s really for the better, as most Sequoia shoppers are towing-minded (tow ratings range up to 7,400 pounds). With 381 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque, the remaining V-8 is a powerhouse…. Ride quality is good for a body-on-frame truck, thanks to the independent rear suspension system–with the ride even a step more composed with the active variable air suspension (AVS) system in the Platinum model. Road and wind noise feel quite well sealed-away, too…. Take even a brief look at the Sequoia, and you’ll know what it is: a full-size SUV, and a brawny truck. The testosterone-tinged look of the Sequoia may appear somewhat cartoonishly musclebound for some, though it beats the almost anonymous styling of most minivans, and has a high, serious-truck look from the front that no crossover can rival. Cabin appointments, predictably, feel like those of a high-end full-size pickup from the front seats, grafted with two more rows of roomy wagon, and the instrument panel is functional without looking too plain.”
TheCarConnection.com report
_________________________________
“As the largest SUV in the Toyota lineup, the full-size Sequoia is designed to accommodate families who need three real rows of seating, a fair amount of off-road capability and the ability to tow a boat or other trailer. In reality, we suspect that only a small percentage of Toyota Sequoia owners are especially outdoorsy. But this hasn’t prevented the Sequoia from becoming a popular choice due to its refined road manners and comfortable interior…. In our reviews of the current Toyota Sequoia, we’ve been impressed with its surprising maneuverability, overall refinement and the power generated by the 5.7-liter V8.”
Edmunds.com

“The 2014 Toyota Sequoia is for those who need the space and capacity of a full-size SUV and want proven Toyota reliability and quality as well. It includes seating for eight people, a powerful standard V8 engine, optionally available 4-wheel drive (4WD) and a towing capacity of up to 7,400 pounds. Its competition includes the Chevrolet Tahoe, Nissan Armada and Ford Expedition…. it has a great powertrain, advanced features, excellent fit and finish and the peace of mind of rugged Toyota dependability…..
You’ll Like This Car If…There are many choices in this segment, all of them with solid capabilities. What sets the 2014 Sequoia apart is its great powertrain, advanced features and the peace of mind of Toyota quality and reliability.”
kbb.com (Kelley Blue Book)
_________________________________
“The Sequoia represents a modern take on the traditional sport utility vehicle. It’s big, built to transport people and their gear in comfort across long distances on North American super-highways. It can tow a sizable trailer or continue when the pavement ends and many other SUVs don’t look so tough anymore. It’s all about getting people in and out easily, keeping them comfy, and making heavy loads secure and routine. It rides quietly, steers easily, and with three models, two drivetrains, and a full complement of features, the Sequoia can meet a variety of wants, needs and price points. We think the Sequoia SR5 is the best model in the lineup for towing, with or without four-wheel drive…. The interior is notable for thoughtful features that increase utility, such as a compass, map light, automatic up-and-down jam protection for front power windows, and back door power window. There are eight cup holders, eight bottle holders, console surfaces, everything you would want for eating in the Sequoia while putting away the miles…. We found the Sequoia comfortable for a 1,000-mile day. Driving the Toyota Sequoia is like sitting in your den, watching the world go by. It may be big, but it’s not tiring to operate as the day goes on. It’s the kind of vehicle that an American family would enjoy for a long, long day on the interstate. It’s got long legs and an effortless cruising pace. There is low noise and vibration, so you can listen to the audio system or converse at a normal tone of voice. It rates 18-19 mpg on the open road, conceivably offering 500 miles between fill-ups at moderate speeds and loads. No doubt about it, the Sequoia is at home on the biggest of North American roads.”

2014 Scion iQ Reviews from Third-Party Sources
Researching the 2014 Scion iQ? We have assembled a grouping of third-party reviews from trusted sites such a s Kelley Blue Book, Edmunds, and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, among others, to help you make the most informed car-buying decision possible.
Whats Experts Are Saying about the 2014 Scion iQ:
“The 2014 Scion iQ is among a crop of tiny cars that emphasize high fuel economy, low entry cost and stylish design. Like the Fiat 500 and Chevrolet Spark, the iQ boasts youthful looks and more refinement than the Smart Fortwo….
You’ll Like This Car If: If you live in a crowded place where you need to fight for a parking space, the iQ is worth its weight in gold. This Scion’s fuel efficiency, residual value, and the reliability record of its Toyota parent are also alluring.”
Favorite Features:
TIGHT TURNING RADIUS
Making a U-turn in some vehicles can feel like a gamble, but with the iQ’s 26.4-foot turning circle you’ll never have to worry about that dreaded 3-point turn amid oncoming traffic. In less dramatic situations, this also translates to tight maneuverability in parking lots.
STAGGERED SEATING
By pushing the dashboard and console forward, the 2014 Scion iQ puts the front passenger slightly ahead of the driver, which cleverly adds extra room for a passenger in back. There’s no such luck for those behind the driver, though.”
kbb.com (Kelley Blue Book)
_________________________________
“Launched in 2012 and largely unchanged in its third year, the Scion iQ is precisely 10 feet long. Its blocky, slab-sided styling is tougher-looking than the Smart’s rounder lines, and the Scion looks especially good on the available, handsome, and large 17-inch alloy wheels, which give it a surprisingly aggressive stance. It’s still stubby, but it’s stubby-with-attitude…. It handles well, and while you’d expect it to be good in urban cut-and-thrust driving, it rides far better–and more confidently–at higher speeds than does the Smart….. Safety is often top of mind when looking at such small cars, and the iQ has not only the usual allotment of electronic safety and control systems, but no fewer than 11 different airbags–including one protecting the rear passenger’s head from contact with the hatchback window glass, a world first…… The small size and leisurely acceleration pay off in fuel economy, though. The Scion iQ is rated by the EPA at 37 mpg combined (36 mpg city, 37 mpg highway). That’s 1 mpg better than the Smart, but it comes with a considerably better driving experience.”
CarConnection.com report
_________________________________
“The iQ is Scion’s premium micro-subcompact, packaged as a three-door, four-passenger hatchback. It features intelligent and functional design elements that follow a “less is more” philosophy, offering innovative technologies and surprising comfort in the world’s smallest four-seater….
For 2014, the Scion brand is celebrating its 10th anniversary. Unique 10th Anniversary Edition iQ is available in limited numbers. It features exclusive exterior paint, silver seatbelts, a solar powered illuminated shift knob, illuminated badges, graphite gray finish 16″ alloy wheels, and BeSpoke premium audio with navigation.”

“It’s good-looking, the interior design is about the best of any cheap car, and the seats are comfortable. The suspension is simple, but it works well, and the precise steering and its size make the iQ super easy to park.”

“You’ll Like This Car If… The Scion tC for 2014 offers a balanced blend of driving enjoyment, good fuel economy and cutting-edge audio connectivity as to make it an easy choice for most first-time buyers. Numerous accessories and aftermarket parts allow nearly infinite customization options, and the big rear hatch provides excellent cargo hauling potential.

“Add it to your shopping list because: While the FR-S is still Scion’s top performer, the tC offers sporty looks and an exciting drive for less money. With an expected base price under $20,000, the 2014 Scion tC is about $5,000 cheaper the FR-S. But it still boasts 180 horsepower and direct steering, which is said to be improved with the latest revisions. The tC also includes a standard power sunroof, 18-inch alloy wheels and Bluetooth. Equipped with the 6-speed manual, the tC is also quick. It reaches 60 miles per hour in 7.4 seconds – a figure that may improve with the latest updates.”

Researching the 2014 Toyota Yaris? We have assembled a grouping of third-party reviews from trusted sites such as Kelley Blue Book, Edmunds, and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, among others, to help you make the most informed car-buying decision possible.
Whats Experts Are Saying about the 2014 Toyota Yaris:
“Versatility and affordability are basic requirements for a modern subcompact car. And from that standpoint, the 2014 Toyota Yaris hatchback meets expectations…. Adults will be able to get comfortable in both the front and rear seats, as both the two-door and four-door hatchbacks offer solid headroom and legroom for this class. In addition, desirable features like Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity and USB/iPod integration are standard, even on the base L model…. The Yaris’ interior couldn’t be simpler or easier to use.”

“Its feature content is a strength by subcompact standards. The interior is both stylish and spacious, a rare combination at this price point. And the suspension is surprisingly capable, delivering more fun-to-drive smiles than expected.
Indeed, the Yaris may not be a superstar, but it’s a solid competitor with the added bonuses of Toyota’s traditionally strong resale value and reliability. Last year’s redesign continues to stand the Yaris in good stead.
What We Like: Good overall fuel economy; standard Bluetooth and USB/iPod connectivity; accommodating back seat; stylish interior; nimble handling.”

BLUETOOTH
Now standard on every Yaris, this system makes it far safer to drive and talk on the phone, lessening the risk of distracted driving.
NINE AIRBAGS
The Yaris’ bevy of airbags complements Toyota’s Star Safety system, which includes stability and traction control, antilock brakes, and Smart Stop Technology, which cuts engine power should the brake and accelerator pedals be pressed simultaneously.”

Researching the 2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser? Milton Ruben Toyota has assembled a grouping of third-party reviews from trusted sites such a s Kelley Blue Book, Edmunds, and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, among others, to help you make the most informed car-buying decision possible.
Whats Experts Are Saying about the 2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser:
“For those old enough to remember, the 2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser SUV is vaguely reminiscent of the original FJ40 Land Cruisers that help build the company’s reputation for rugged durability roughly a half-century ago. While it certainly looks newer, it has kept the original’s straightforward feel, with no excess luxury trimmings or frills – just the capability to go nearly anywhere. Some might line it up against the Jeep Wrangler, but there are significant differences. The FJ’s roof is not removable and the FJ is obviously finished to a higher level than the decidedly more utilitarian Jeep…. For a fairly hard-core weekend off-road warrior, the FJ makes an entirely reasonable daily driver, and you really can live with it day-in, day-out. Few others will match that blend as well.”
kbb.com (Kelley Blue Book)
_________________________________
“The FJ Cruiser channels the 1960s-era FJ40, but updates it into a more whimsical, cartoonish look that’s still really cool years after the new FJ’s introduction. HUMMER models came close to matching the FJ’s presence, but they’re history. And if MINI ever decided to make a macho true-truck off-roader, this might also be what it would look like. Inside, the appointments are intentionally stark, with body-colored panels and simple gauges and sturdy switchgear.
Built from the sturdy underpinnings of the last-generation Toyota 4Runner, the FJ Cruiser impresses off-road, with some sacrifice on the road. Skid plates protect the underbody, and components are tucked into frame rails, while the high ground clearance and short wheelbase are assets, along with good wheel articulation–and the FJ’s approach and departure angles and water-fording depth (27.5 inches) are better than most other stock off-roaders.
Considering the very utilitarian, back-to-basics look and feel of the FJ Cruiser, it comes with a surprisingly good set of interior comfort and convenience items, with many of them standard. For those who really want to maximize the FJ’s off-road potential, there are several pointed packages to do just that–and look good doing so.”

“If you’re sick of hearing about the carlike characteristics of modern crossover SUVs, the 2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser just might be the antidote. Inspired by the original 40 series Land Cruiser of the ’60s and ’70s, the 2014 FJ Cruiser shares not only that model’s classic round headlights and other styling cues but also its back-to-basics SUV character. With tough 4-wheel drive underpinnings and countless Toyota Racing Development (TRD) accessories available, the FJ Cruiser is a serious off-road truck…. Compared to the 4-door Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, however, the 2013 FJ Cruiser is downright civilized, and therein lies its unique value. It certainly isn’t carlike, but if you’re looking for supreme off-road chops in a somewhat pavement-friendly package, this Toyota is at the top of a very short list.”
